Just kidding, I make that typo(?) all the time. Left hand fills in words that I’m thinking about or word endings to other words. According to Lewis Carroll, a sign of a perfectly balanced mind.

That’s the prescriptive take; the descriptive take says parent can be a verb. Some dictionaries have it listed as such, as the second definition, e.g. Merriam-Webster.

Which is why I’m become more lenient about people who write “to” instead of “too” and such like. Our brain can do funny things to us. Of course, that doesn’t remove the responsibility to proof read, and I usually do proof just about everything I type in the Internet. Just not that time.
